The Free plan is complete for one teacher: the upgrade exists for the school, not to unlock the tool. Schools move to the School plan when the records need to belong to the institution: when evidence should survive staff turnover, when the privacy office needs an agreement to point at, or when school leaders need one operational view. If none of that describes you yet, stay on Free with a clear conscience.
What changes
- The school owns the workspace. Records stop living in one teacher’s personal login and become the school’s: teachers come and go, the evidence stays.
- Invite people in bulk. School admins can invite staff and students one at a time, paste rows from a spreadsheet, or upload a CSV or text file.
- Retention follows your records policy. Seven years by default, configurable, instead of the Free plan’s 12 months from hand-in.
- The governed extras. School analytics, deliberate admin controls, a signed DPA, security-review support and priority support.
What stays familiar
The editor, replay, verification and teacher workflow are the same. The School plan changes who owns and administers the workspace, how the school invites people, how leaders see usage, and how billing and retention work. Confirm the handling of an existing workspace before making the change.
How it works
From your workspace settings, choose “Set up your school”. You’ll confirm the school’s details, see the quarterly price for your size calculated in the open (the same arithmetic as the public calculator), and pay by card or arrange an invoice. Schools that can’t card-pay don’t need to: purchase orders are normal.
